(16/5/99) Tasik Kundang with the Cycleflex group

cycleflex tasik kundang

This time around, its Tasik Kundang-Rawang with the Cycleflex group. Managed to clock a nice 35km ride with one lady newcomer who had a nasty crash. The course is very pleasant- not too easy and not too hard either.

Special mention have to be accorded to Edwin Ng, the ex-national road cyclist. I have never seen any rider pedal hard at full speed going through a gravel laden corner on a downhill before.

And if that is not enough, there was this steep and rough terrrain downhill track which normal riders would use their brakes going downhill. This Edwin just flew through and again pedalled hard downhill and then came back up again in no time at all just for our viewing pleasure. Now is that awesome or what?

(23/5/99) Bike Hash at Sg. Buloh (long ride)

What started out to be a nice shady ride with a forgiveable false trail turned out not much later to be a punishing long uphill and out in the magnificient sun! And if that's not enough, unwelcome false trails where you go downhill to find out later that you have to go uphill again and in the sun really tests your passion for this sometimes body abusing sport! Luckily towards the middle part of the ride, we got the shade again even though there were more moderate uphills to conquer. The wise thing that you learn from this ride is to just let the over eager riders to go through all the false trails and then you just take the right path.

One would suspect that this trail was created after complaints of the previous ride in Semenyih being more of a race. As a result, riders came back at different times and from many different directions!
